Being Grimm

So one of the new books I bought is :

The Complete Fairy Tales
by
Brothers Grimm
If you think fairy tales are all about happy and fun and happy ever afters, don't ever open it. EVER!
But if you are cool with it, go ahead. I am not lending.
It's not like there isn't happy endings, but they are just twisted.
In The Brave Little Tailor after, killing seven flies, he decides to make a belt that says Seven in one blow.
This scared a giant, a king, and all sorts.
And he gets to marry a princess he has never met. But of course, he will marry her. She is pretty.
....
Most of the stories are like that.
Its either...
  1. Prince sees poor girl who was abused/poor/kind but misunderstood/hot but poor falls in love with her like that and brings her back to his big castle to live happy ever after
  2. Random lucky guy/prince who wants to see the world travels to this exotic land, sees one hot princess and marries her. Of course, before that he must prove his worth by killing some random giant/giving a smart princess a difficult riddle to solve/capture some giant who was terrorizing the people.
  3. There were things and animals like sausages roosters and the likes

But overall an enjoyable series which I will finish....soon.

My english teacher still refuses to change my marks

Monday, March 23, 2009

Bah!

Firstly, the good news.

a) I got an 'A' in my FCE examination. (First Certificate in English)
b) I passed my French exam with a lot of guesswork.
c) I have gotten an extra 2 new books.
d) I got an 'A' in science
The bad news

a) I got a 60 for add maths.
b) My whole add maths project is wrong a.k.a do everything again
c) My english teacher gave me a 'C' in English because she didn't understand the style I wrote my essay in. And after I gone over everything with her, she still wouldn't change the mark.

.....

I shall not care about bad news (c) cause I got an A in FCE..

I really am starting to hate graphs and the likes.

I haven't seen Alya for ages...

So how do you guys read?

Morality is annoying sometimes

So...do 8 essays on a variety of topics given.

Example,

What is the aim of the Women's Act in Malaysia?
How far do you think the status of a woman should be with a man.

Normally, I could answer this question with research and language but in Moral education, one must use words like:

a) Tolerating one another. (translated from Malay)
The want to tolerate, be patient and controlling oneselve to avoid confrontation amd misunderstanding for the sake of a good life.

b) Rasional
The capability to think depending on available and logical excuse and proof given and the ability to take action after a reasonable amount of thought.

c) Honouring women's rights.
Protecting and officiating women as an individual who can contribute in the growth of a family, community and nation.

d) Open mindedness
To be ready to give and take opinions, renewals and criticism parallel with the factual truth with the norm of a Malaysian community

I refuse to write it.

Just the fact that I will fail Moral in my SPM if I don't write it.....

Finish already?

So...I stayed up until one in the morning hooked on Change of Heart. And this was after I told myself that I would pace it out and read it slowly. Never happened. But it was a fantastic book. And I only felt sorry for two characters, Amelia and Piper.

And I shall not tell you why. Go read it yourself.

Charlotte in that book sounds like a biatch.

and that is all I am going to say.

I also watched Race to Witch Mountain yesterday. It's quite a good movie. I actually wanted to watch a lot of movies. There was just the problem that it was all 18 PL which was basically for violence.

Which means I have yet to watch The Watchmen. Which I really want to watch.

And I also saw the trailer for Angels and Demons. They cut out most of the scenes. I should know. And I was so pumped up to watch and then...

18PL. Again. Damnit.

And I like my age.

Since growing older means I have to take on more responsibilities blah blah.

Not to mention the fact that if anything happens, it was my responsibility.

...

And I should get back to my homework

Comment allez-vous?

And the correct answer to that is....

Bien

Now, I have a weird problem going on.

I am doing research for a Malay paper.
I am also studying for my French test.
I have come to the terms that I will never be good at grammar in any language.

My speaking...good
My writing...passable (with all my teachers points of view. My french essay is hilarious though)
My grammar...let us not talk about it.

French grammar, once I get the hang of it, I might be able to do.
But for now, let me waddle neck-deep with my etre, avoir, s'appeler, aimer and the likes.

Watching French shows does not help. I have to burn my eyes afterwards.

Time flies during the holidays...whether you like it or not.

So...my predictions for my first terms....

nearly all passes.

I couldn't say the same for computer. Why did they wedge it in between moral and sejarah I don't know. No one could remember who Tok Janggut was and also 36 nilai for moral on the same day.

*grumble*

So my computer paper was nearly blank.

And I don't think i will get an 'A' in English. What with my biatchy teacher and all.

(becks, alya, I ranted about her to you already)

And now I would like to introduce to you my new reading material.

Very nice book, from what I have read so far. And Alya can stop gloating about how she read that book already.

Friday, March 13, 2009

Becky, your phone hates me!

To Alya:

Me and Becks made a deal. We shall update.

Now, to my update.

Holidays in form five sucks. I have this humongous load of work to finish. And get this, it's only for a week. Because, apparently, all that info will spill out of our heads in a week.

Somehow I have to suck it up, stop laughing and attempt to do the *completely unhelpful* Moral project which will supposedly help me in life. The fact that they are trying to educate us to not runaround the streets killing everyone we see, I get.

What I don't get is the fact that we have to memorize the crazy long definition for a 'nilai'.

And my exams finished today. Things should be looking upwards.

And I have been completely high on Stardust. Been watching it everyday while *studying*

And since Alya will be reading this, I shall do the 16 tag thing. I am suppose to mention 16 random things about myself.

1. I would be sixteen for a very loooooonnnggg time.

2. I get annoyed by two-faced people.

3. While my favourite subject is English, I have never had a good English teacher.

4. I am a Britney fan, always have and always will be.

5. When I see couples with a large age gap, I immediately think back. (like my aunt and uncle who is nine years apart. So it's like my aunt was a baby when my uncle was in Primary School)

6. Long hair is nice, but I shall never ever have it again.

7. My dream wedding involves purple-ness. So bridesmaids beware.

8. I plan on visiting everywhere before I die.

9. I think I may be that person with the gazillion cats.

10. People think I am one of those girls who listen to pop. Then, they look at my playlist. (Hardcore rock)

11. I dislike needles. It is just plain too pointy

12. I dislike it when people decide to squish my dreams, just because they can.

13. I don't like it when the have tryouts and they already know who they want on the team. (Yes, I am still pissed at this.)

14. I use to dream that one day Borders or Kinokuniya would give me a free pass to take whatever I want for free in under an hour.

15. I never like soap operas. It seems like one big happy sleepabout family.

16. I like Heroes. It's the only show where sex is the farthest thing to be played out.

Eat You Up

Nice song...nice dance moves. I recommend the vid to anyone.

So...debate tryouts tomorrow. My topic:

"This house will sanction countries with child labour"

I am the government team.

2nd speaker.

And very stressed out.

This topic is not actually on child labour. It's more on the sanctions itself.
So I must be like Kai Syuen and meditate.

"Sanctions are good...sanctions are good...."

I have to win this somehow.

Yup...I am so going to thrash the opposition.

I have to stop giving myself pep talks like this

Kill the lights

So....Alya has disappeared from out midst.

She will be on the plane for fourteen hours which has the end results of a painful butt.

And then, she will suffer from jetlag and the lack of sleep.

And she has to learn French.

And we shall babble together in French.

The fact is I still don't know when she is leaving.....

And am still waiting to know when she is leaving.

And I think we should all get Skype now. My mom will kill me if I call London daily.

And on to a somewhat more happier post.

I went for the ISKL's IASAS yesterday with Jo and Pez. (free ticket)

It was good, really good. Even though the drama was a tad bit disturbing.

But still...I had fun.

Spin spin spin

I watched an awesome show last night.

Try to guess what it was.

Yup, Slumdog Millionaire. I recommend anyone who has not watch it to get your lazy ass off and watch it. Now.

But i shall insert trailer link here, so I command you to watch it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIzbwV7on6Q

Now go forth and be educated.

Jessie, le chien

French class sometimes annoys me. Alright, not the french class but some of my classmates.

So I had to skip class last week because of my cross-country and this was the convo that happen with me and one of the students.

Me, Person
Hi
Hello
So what happen last week? *smiles*
*smiles back* Oh we did a lot.
*continues smiling and waiting for explanation*
*stares back in confusion*
So what happened last week? *smile became slightly strained*
*smiles back* Oh we did a lot.
*Smile holds up barely* So what did we do last week?
I have some notes.
Yes, what could have been done in five seconds took that long to be answered.
and yes I know that there may be a lot covered. You don't have to repeat it so many times....
*grumbles and tries to understand french conjugations*

Running to nowhere.

My mom decided I should lift my unhealthy butt of the chair and exercise.

So off we go to.....the GYM.

And here's the thing about gyms. I get the weight lifting and the push up thing and the monkey bar thing.

I even get why there are those auto cycling thinng which do not at all equates into a bike= try riding it in town, one would be instant roadkill.

And I get the row thing=drowning ourselves in the lake is more than likely.

What I don't get it the running thing. I mean, the club I go to it nestled-in-a-hollow-of-mountain type of club. So , scenery is gorgeus. And that's why I don't get the people on the running machine. They could have gotten fresh air but they want to smell sweat instead.

Logic sometimes is a funny thing.

But I did go to the gym. And am one step away from...uh...being healthier?

A fact on heels

Never ever wear heels if you were on a marathon earlier in the morning.

So, I went for the annual cross-country thing yesterday. It was waaaaayyyy longer than last year's run.

You see, last year, upper-sec only has to run the big round and lower-sec runs the small round twice. Piece of cake.

Now, they think it's too short for the dubiously active seniors, sooooo... lets add more to the run. So our round now is:

One small round , the original big round, and another small round.

Ouch....stamina is one thing but the pool and ground is a different thing altogether.

Owies.

And to cap it all off my confirmation was this evening.

I was looking forward to it until I discovered the itinery for the morning.

And because of my want to look tall for once, I just had to put on those heels.

Newness but still old

So I have apparently started a blog here. But the one at livejournal is still there. And shall always be there. Since I'm to lazy to delete it.

So for my livejournal blog, it's here

So, it will still be a living, breathing, computer thingie, where I blog on randomness and stuff.

But I need to get down to something first.

NUR ALYA IMAN HOW DARE YOU MOVE TO LONDON WITHOUT MY APPROVAL!!!!!! =(

Yeah, the rest of the convo is by phone.

I should think Alya is deaf now.

And Becky shall go on the conquest of kidnapping her.

next topic.

I have a cross country to go to. 14km of it. My legs are jellifying accordingly now. Great.

But here's the good thing. Alongside the route is an all too innocent Carl's Junior.

Mwuahahahahahaha. My motivation is complete.

And I am not done with you yet Alya
